If we had a dime for every time we have been asked to see pictures of our house, we would be rich.

Welcome to our little space online where we are sharing pictures of our custom bin home and the process of it all. This began as a crazy dream of mine after we decided to make the family farm our forever home, and there were many times I thought my bin dreams were not going to happen. We faced many challenges, delays, and had many learning curves during the construction and design phase of the custom home build, but are very happy with how it is turning out.

For this year we are getting a 1/4 beef and will be taking our pigs to be processed. This will be our first year in our new home and the first time we will have a full kitchen.

But the biggest problem I fear of having a freezer full of meat stocked is not knowing what exaclty is in our freezer, or forgetting we have it there. We have our household refrigerator freezer drawer, but we also have a number of external freezers and deep freezes for food storage.

My goal is to keep this freezer organized and to be able to keep track of how much meat we are going through, how much we have left, and how much we are saving a year by not purchasing it from a big box store.

I also want to keep a good track of how fast we use the meat to plan for the coming years and to know how much beef we use as a family.

I created a sheet that was simple at keeping a good inventory at all times. I’m also sharing this with you, for free.

I want my kid to experience the childhood I had. Here are a few ways that I am going to try to do that:
- Spend more time outside together ??
- Limit my personal time on my cell phone and internet aside from work (we set the examples for our kids) ?⏰
- Encourage activities that don’t require electronics ??‍♂️

When you find the perfect chicken coop knobs but the color just doesn’t quite match your aesthetic- insert spray paint. ?

These knobs will be on the main side of our chicken coop and they look much better with a touch of paint!

IM SO EXCITED for how this is coming together.

I’ve always struggle with wanting a super nice chicken coop but wanting to be able to keep my chickens free ranged and moving around the yard, but giving them warmth through the winter.

So instead of building a new static coop, I decided to give my grandpas old covered wagon a new life on our farm. This little piece makes me smile so much already.

It’s been a really fun project and I can’t wait to add a few of the finishing details soon!

Never say never because I had swore off goats at the farm until I saw how overgrown the donkeys and horses pasture were getting BUT instead of full size dairy goats we are trying mini - fainting goats whose sole purpose will be weeding and the occasional faint for entertainment.
